Blake + Matt | An intimate mountain wedding

Weddings

This year has been pretty crazy for all of us. I sort of lost track with blogging while we were dealing with a lot of change in our lives. For the next few weeks I’m going to be featuring this year’s weddings on the blog in the series “Throwback Thursday, IHI Wedding Edition”! It should be fun!!!

Blake and Matt contacted me just a few weeks prior to their beautiful May wedding. Like a lot of other couples planning their 2020 weddings, they had to make some major changes to their original plans. They decided to host their closest family members at a private home in Canaan Valley, WV. Despite the chaos of having to re-plan and create a very intimate wedding day, I don’t think I could have imagined a more perfect way for these two to have tied the knot.

After chatting with them a few times, I just knew I’d love documenting their wedding day. The love these two have for Jesus and each other was just indescribable. I just love how The Lord works to make everything good.

When I arrived to this beautiful mountain home, I was greeted with smiles from everyone! The sun was shining and the trees were just starting to get their leaves.

The ceremony setup was simply beautiful overlooking Timberline’s lake and mountains.

When I was photographing Blake’s shoes I thought something looked familiar, then I realized I bought the same shoes for our wedding!! They were just so pretty!!

I loved their reception setup. It was the perfect mix of rustic elegance!

Blake was the absolute sweetest and laid back bride!! She just radiated beauty!! I loved these moments with her momma and daddy. She wrote them a letter. So special!

Just minutes before they said their vows, Blake and Matt decided to do a “first touch” and pray together. It was just so special.

I will never forget how beautiful this ceremony was. You could feel the presence of God with the mountain air blowing and a few light sprinkles as everyone sang the words to “How Deep The Father’s Love for us”. I still get cold chills thinking about it!

We did portraits by the lake with the most beautiful views in Canaan Valley! Love them.

These two!! Just love them.

Blake and Matt, thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to document your most special wedding. I love that God brought you two together and that I had the privilege of photographing your union in Christ. I know you will have a life long marriage serving Him!

xoxo,

Zoe
