Kate & Briston’s Elegant Wedding at Hotel Morgan

Wedding at Hotel Morgan | Zoe Evans Photography

There are weddings that feel like a celebration, and then there are weddings that feel like a reflection of something even deeper, Kate and Briston’s wedding was the latter. Held at the historic Hotel Morgan in Morgantown, West Virginia, their day was filled with joyful tears, meaningful moments, and a peaceful sense that they were exactly where they were meant to be. It was a Christ-centered celebration from beginning to end, and I feel so honored to have captured it.

A Morning Full of Sweet Prayer and Sisterhood

The day began with beautiful flat lay details and the warmest welcome from Kate and her bridesmaids. The girls were full of joy and laughter as they got ready. One of the most touching moments was when they surprised Kate by gathering around to pray over her. You could feel the love and intention in the room. Every single one of them was there not just to help her get ready, but to support her heart as she stepped into marriage.

Meanwhile, Briston and his groomsmen were very excited. He shared quiet, meaningful moments with his parents and his brother. Those in-between moments that speak volumes about how much this day meant to everyone involved.

First Looks and Family Tears

Kate’s first look with her bridesmaids was both emotional and joyful. But it was her first look with her family that had everyone tearing up. Her family were all in tears (happy tears of course) the moment they saw her in her dress. It was clear just how close-knit and love-filled this family is. Watching her dad hug her, while her brother and mom cry, and her sister beam with pride was one of those rare, unforgettable moments.

A Ceremony Rooted in Faith

Their ceremony took place in the stately and elegant event space at Hotel Morgan. While Kate and Briston shared their vows, you could feel the emotion in every word they spoke. The whole room felt reverent, joyful, and expectant. It was beautiful!

Portraits, A Surprise Mustang, and the Cookie Table

After the ceremony, we moved into family and bridal party portraits. Then we headed outside for something extra special: a surprise vintage Mustang, gifted to the couple by Kate’s mom. It matched the one her parents drove away on their wedding day! The photos we captured with the car are some of my favorites. It was such a thoughtful and unique touch that made their portraits even more meaningful.

Inside the hotel, we snuck in a few shots of on the grand staircase and even a few fun elevator shots!

An Unforgettable Reception

The reception was just as joyful as the rest of the day. From heartfelt toasts that brought the whole room to tears to a packed dance floor full of love and laughter, this party was one to remember. Kate and her dad shared a tear-filled father-daughter dance that left everyone emotional, those two are truly best friends. And of course, there was the iconic cookie table, another surprise for Kate and a delicious treat for guests!

A Wedding to Remember

From the very beginning, this day reflected exactly who Kate and Briston are, joy-filled, deeply faithful, and completely in love. Every detail was thoughtful, every moment was meaningful, and every person present was overjoyed to be part of it. It was such an honor to document a day that felt so full of purpose and love.

Kate and Briston, thank you for letting me witness and capture such a sacred and joyful day. I know the Lord has big things in store for your marriage, and I’m cheering you on always!
