Some wedding days are simply beautiful. Others feel deeply personal. Karsyn and David’s wedding at Parsons Family Farm in Tucker County, West Virginia was both.
I’ve known these two for years. I actually went to high school with both of them, and Karsyn and I spent years together in the same dance class growing up. So when she reached out about photographing their wedding, it immediately felt like such an honor.
After following along with all of her planning over the past year, I knew their day was going to be something incredibly special. It exceeded every expectation!
If you know me, you know I absolutely love a sentimental family farm wedding. The Parsons Family Farm wasn’t just the location of Karsyn and David’s wedding, it was part of their story.
Surrounded by rolling hills, a peaceful pond, and towering trees that created a natural canopy overhead, every part of the property felt intentional and deeply personal.
During the ceremony, their pastor even commented on how sacred it was that they were beginning their marriage on land that had meant so much to their family for generations.
It was one of those moments that reminded everyone that weddings are about so much more than beautiful details… They’re about legacy.
If I had to describe Karsyn and David in just a few words, I’d say they’re two of the kindest, most gentle, and calming people you’ll ever meet.
Their wedding reflected exactly that, nothing felt rushed or forced. The entire day carried this peaceful atmosphere where everyone simply enjoyed being together and celebrated the beginning of their marriage.
From the quiet moments getting ready to the joyful reception that evening, there was a sense of gratitude woven throughout the entire day.
One of my favorite parts of the day was watching Karsyn get ready inside the farmhouse. There were so many sweet moments shared between her and her mom before the ceremony.
Her wedding gown was absolutely breathtaking with a timeless silhouette that fit the romantic feel of the day perfectly. Paired with her elegant veil, every portrait felt effortlessly classic.
Meanwhile, David and his groomsmen spent the morning laughing together, soaking in every moment before walking down the aisle. You could tell they both had been waiting a long time for this day.

The outdoor ceremony was one of the most peaceful I’ve ever photographed! Massive trees created a beautiful canopy overhead, providing both shade and a picturesque backdrop for their vows. It honestly felt like stepping into a storybook.
With family and lifelong friends surrounding them, Karsyn and David said “I do” in one of the most beautiful ceremony settings Tucker County has to offer.

One thing that made this wedding especially meaningful was how many people came together to make it happen.
Family and friends poured so much love into every detail.
One of my favorite touches was the dried hydrangeas used throughout the wedding décor. Karsyn and her mom carefully preserved each bloom from various family members’ hydrangea bushes last fall. It was such a thoughtful way to incorporate generations of family into the celebration while creating an ethereal, romantic design that fit the property beautifully.
Those kinds of meaningful details are always my favorite!

As beautiful as the wedding day was, getting there wasn’t exactly easy.
In the days leading up to the wedding, severe storms rolled through the area, leaving everyone wondering what would happen. At one point, family members and the wedding party were literally helping hold down the reception tent during a wind burst.
But by God’s grace, the wedding day itself arrived with absolutely gorgeous weather.
Blue skies, comfortable temperatures and the kind of golden evening light every photographer dreams about. It couldn’t have been more perfect.
As the sun began to set, we snuck away for a few quiet moments by the pond. Those portraits quickly became some of my favorites from the entire day.
The soft light reflected across the water while Karsyn and David simply soaked in the fact that they were finally husband and wife.
No elaborate posing, no distractions, just the two of them enjoying the very first moments of marriage together. It made my heart smile!

As much as I love traveling for weddings, there’s something incredibly special about photographing weddings here in Tucker County.
Walking into a wedding where you know so many of the guests, where families have known each other for years, and where the venue itself carries generations of memories makes the day feel even more meaningful.
Karsyn and David’s wedding was filled with genuine joy, deep roots, and the kind of love that simply feels like home.
I’m so thankful I was able to document the beginning of this next chapter for two people I’ve known for so many years!
Congratulations again, Karsyn and David. Your day was every bit as beautiful as the two of you. May The Lord richly bless your marriage!
