[dropcap]I[/dropcap] know it’s been forever since I’ve posted on the blog. Goodness, like months!! Things have been a little crazy in the Evans household over the last few months. I thought it would be great to start the blog back up in September with a recap of the best day ever. August 15, 2020!
After COVID wrecked havoc on our original wedding plans to be married in Thomas’s home church, we had to settle on a semi-outside wedding at our reception venue. It ended up working out perfectly!
The week before the wedding, we had the best weather. But on Saturday morning, we woke up to super cold temps and RAIN!!! Honestly, like 58 degrees guys. It was crazy!! I could’ve let that ruin the day, but looking back on it, I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Plus, rain on your wedding day is good luck 😉
We started off the day getting ready with the best hair and makeup team!!! Melissa and Tina made me feel so beautiful. Katelyn also got the best detail pictures. I just can’t believe how beautifully she documented the day.
This ring is Thomas’s daddy’s wedding band that we put in his boutonniere. A simple way to say we missed him and that Tee could feel him close to his heart.
I did first looks with my daddy and Tee. All the tears. I’m a momma and daddy’s girl for sure.
Poor Thomas was so nervous leading up to this moment. He had been pacing back and forth all day waiting to see me. I remember thinking wow, it’s finally here. It really hit me to see him standing there that we were going to be married!!
Ah!!! I love his expression here. Holding back tears!
We may not have been able to get married in the church but Katelyn was able to get so many pretty portraits.
Like I said, it POURED the rain. All. Day. Long. Gray and Tee made sure I didn’t get too wet getting to the ceremony. Such good boys!!
On our way to the ceremony, we stopped by the nursing home to say hello to Thomas’s grandma. Our hearts were breaking that we couldn’t hug her and that she couldn’t see her little Thomas get married. We were thankful to have this window visit.
I cannot get over how perfectly everything came together. I had some amazing helpers decorate the ceremony space and it was everything I could’ve ever dreamed of. I hand painted the signs. I found this old vintage frame at an antique place and Dad put a piece of board behind it. I used chalkboard paint and then those chalk paint markers!! Loved making them.
I’ll never forget how dreamy this felt. I still have to pinch myself that we’re finally married!!
We braided three cords together for our unity ceremony. Tee had me cracking up because he said he didn’t know how to braid!!
We also wrote our own vows. I LOVED this part of our ceremony!!
Husband and wife!! Finally!!
After the ceremony we got a break in the rain by the grace of God!!! I am SO thankful for these portraits and love them so much!!!
Katelyn really outdid herself on these my goodness. I love them more and more each time I see them.
After portraits we headed to the reception for tons of laughter, dancing and so much fun!!! My mom really helped make this my dream wedding. She put in 15 hour days with me to make sure things were just right. Thanks momma!
I loved our first dance!! So much happiness.
The best photographers/friends ever!!! Can’t thank you enough Katelyn and Will!!
Here’s to love friends!! Celebrate love despite the chaos. Love never fails.
xoxo,
Zoe
