This year’s Galentine’s Day Creative Hearts Connect event was everything I hoped it would be! It was meaningful, energizing, joy-filled, and deeply connecting.
When I first dreamed up this event, my heart behind it was simple: create a space where women in business could step away from the noise, connect in real life, and walk away feeling seen, supported, and inspired.
And that’s exactly what happened.
I hosted this year’s Galentine’s event at The Onyx Room, owned by my sweet friend Brittany of Brittany Ann’s Events. From the moment we started planning, Brittany was incredibly helpful in bringing the vision to life.
The space felt warm, welcoming, and intentional. The perfect backdrop for an evening centered around connection and growth for female entrepreneurs in Morgantown and beyond.

One of my favorite parts of the evening? Watching so many local women-owned businesses come together to make this event special.
Each guest was welcomed with a beautifully decorated cookie from Erica at Homestead Cookies (she generously sponsored them — such a gift!). We had the cutest photo booth setup by my friend Chelsey, and let me tell you… the laughter and photo booth moments alone made the night unforgettable!
And the food? Julie from The Berry Best Catering absolutely outdid herself with super cute charcuterie boards that were almost too pretty to eat. Every guest also received a little thoughtfully curated gift bag because if there’s ever a day to celebrate women, it’s Galentine’s Day.
Before we dove into anything educational, we started with intentional conversation.
Each table had connection cards designed to spark meaningful discussions, not surface-level networking, but real conversations. The kind where you leave knowing someone a little better than when you arrived.
From restaurant owners, photographers, to wedding planners and even dance studio owners, all kinds of women-owned industries were represented in the room. And that diversity made the conversations even richer.

I shared a short educational snippet during the evening, something practical but approachable.
We talked about what I call the “Visibility Gap.”
It’s that space between:
Sometimes as business owners, we evolve faster than our brand photos do. We level up, refine our offers, grow our confidence… but our website and marketing visuals still reflect an older version of us.
We walked through:
And the conversations that followed? So meaningful. Women opening up about their next steps, their dreams, and where they feel stuck visually.
That’s why I host these events!

As business owners, especially women balancing so much, it’s easy to operate in isolation. We show up online. We post. We work. But real connection? That’s different.
Creative Hearts Connect is about:
Creating a space for women to connect, feel encouraged, and be genuinely seen is something I care so deeply about, and you helped make Creative Hearts Connect exactly that. The conversations, laughter, and energy in the room reminded me why community matters so much, especially in seasons of growth and dreaming!

If this year taught me anything, it’s that we need more community events like this. More connection, encouragement and more strategic conversations about growing businesses in a way that feels aligned.
I’m already dreaming about hosting another Creative Hearts Connect event in the Spring 2026 and I cannot wait!
If you were at my Galentine’s Day event, thank you for showing up. I truly loved every second of it. If you missed it, I hope to see you at the next one!

If reading this made you realize your visuals might not fully reflect where your business is headed… you’re not alone.
So many women at this event shared the same thing: “I know I’ve grown… but my brand photos haven’t caught up.”

At my core, I’m a family girl, and that’s exactly why I photograph weddings the way I do.
You’re not just hiring me for beautiful portraits. You’re inviting me into one of the most sacred days of your life. I pay attention to the in-between moments - the way your dad squeezes your hand before walking you down the aisle, the quiet breath you take before the doors open, the way your grandmother watches you with pride.
I serve with intention and protect your peace, creating space for you to be fully present while I document your story in an artful, effortless way. Because when you trust me completely, you don’t just pose for the day, you live it. And that’s when yout images become timeless.
And I can't wait to get to know you!
