Melissa + Dalton | A Rustic Purple Wedding in West Virginia

Weddings

If there’s anyone who loves flowers as much as I do, it’s Melissa. When she and Dalton got engaged we were talking about all things wedding planning and her ideas were simple-she wanted all the flowers. I remember her mentioning that she wanted guests to see nothing but flowers when they entered the reception. Melissa and Dalton’s wedding day was full of amazing rustic touches with simple purple wedding flowers complimented by other gorgeous colorful blooms.

Thomas and I had a little bit of a drive to get to Melissa and Dalton’s wedding venue. It was a gorgeous drive down windy country roads with pretty mountains. The venue had epic mountain views too. So pretty! When we arrived, the sun was shining after a little bit of rain and every bridesmaid had a smile on her face! These girls were so sweet- it felt like I’d known them for years. They were so much fun!!

Melissa incorporated colorful floral touches all throughout the day. I just love her shoes!! They were so cute and unique.

Her dress was simple and elegant lace, it photographed so beautifully!

This white porch was a dream to photograph the getting ready part of the day! I love those sweet kisses from Melissa’s mama.

I swear I have the prettiest brides!! Models for sure.

First looks with daddy get me every time. All the tears!!

Melissa and Dalton decided to do a first look, which I loved!! I feel like it allows every single couple to relax and actually enjoy their wedding day together. Melissa’s daddy walked her to meet her groom, it was a unique touch to the traditional first look. So sweet!

I love first looks because they give every couple so much portrait time!! We had time before and after the ceremony for portraits. Now, Melissa and Dalton will have tons of locations and poses to choose from for their prints and album, and they were able to enjoy every part of their wedding day together!

This venue had such gorgeous views of the Appalachian Mountains. You can’t beat and outdoor ceremony in the mountains.

Just look at those florals!! Fresh floral bouquets make all the difference for portraits.

Big white tents make for the perfect reception setting! Just look at those florals.

Dalton’s great uncle made this lemon pound cake! His dad told us he’d been practicing for months! It paid off- guests LOVED it.

We got some glow for sunset portraits!! I just love their smiles.

One of my favorite bridal portraits ever.

Congratulations, you two!! Thank you so much for allowing us to document your beautiful wedding day. May The Lord richly bless your marriage.

xoxo,
Zoe
