It’s our last Tuesdays in Thomas of 2022! I just am here to say thank you so much for your continued support over the last six years. We are so grateful! Wishing you and yours a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year! Enjoy our Christmas letter for 2022:

Hello our sweet friends and family,

It always shocks me how quickly the year passes by. Many of you know how much I truly love writing this yearly letter. In school, I can remember how difficult it was for me to write. I would get my words jumbled up or have random thoughts scattered throughout my papers. Needless to say, I needed a GOOD editor. My momma got that honorary title back in grade school and is still proofing my “important stuff” to this day. Thanks, Mom! 😉

The thought of those jumbled up papers that I used to write in high school and college reminded me of how far we all can stray from God’s role as editor in chief of our lives. Many times throughout the past year, The Lord has reminded me who is in charge. From fun times through hardship, He remains faithful. We have had quite the blessed year. Thomas has enjoyed his job that is very close to home and I’ve stayed busy photographing some amazing weddings up and down the east coast. We love our sweet little home in the mountains and really enjoy being so close to our family.

Advent is my favorite time of year. I have a deep love for sunshine in the summer, but nothing beats putting up our Christmas tree while watching It’s a Wonderful Life. This past Sunday was the first Sunday of Advent; the Sunday of Hope. We sang one of my most treasured hymns “Come Thou Long Expected Jesus.” Those words penned by Charles Wesley almost 300 years ago still ring true today:

“Come, Thou long expected Jesus

Born to set Thy people free;

From our fears and sins release us,

Let us find our rest in Thee.

Israel’s strength and consolation,

Hope of all the earth Thou art;

Dear desire of every nation,

Joy of every longing heart.”

My eyes are swelling with tears. The truth that Christ came into this world, born a humble babe in a dirty manger, to bring us hope is just so mind blowing to me every Christmas. What are we longing for this time of year? How can we find hope and rest in all the hustle and bustle that the holidays bring with them? Our only answer is to turn to Christ, the true reason for Christmas.

I pray that this Christmas season you are filled with the joy that only God can fulfill in your life. That through our longing for peace we can find perfect peace in Christ our Redeemer. I pray The Lord blesses your heart, life, and family in the year to come. There is only true rest and hope in Him.
