Grace in Motion brought together photographers, creatives, planners, and business owners who all shared one thing in common: a desire to grow creatively, personally, and professionally.
As a photographer and business owner, it can sometimes feel easy to get stuck in the routine of client work, editing, emails, timelines, and the constant cycle of running a business. While I absolutely love what I do, this week was such a needed reminder of how important it is to step outside your normal routine and surround yourself with people who inspire you.
The entire atmosphere felt encouraging, collaborative, faith-filled, and deeply intentional.
It wasn’t just about creating beautiful images… It was about connection, mentorship, education, and building genuine relationships within the creative industry.
Throughout the week, I had the opportunity to photograph behind-the-scenes moments, capture brand images and headshots, and document some of the educational portions of the retreat.
One of my favorite parts was getting to watch Courtney fully in her element, preparing for attendees, serving people so thoughtfully, and creating an environment where everyone felt welcomed and valued the moment they walked through the doors.
You could truly feel how much heart went into every detail of the experience.
From the educational sessions to the conversations shared in between shoots, everything that I experienced was both purposeful and inspiring.

Part of the week included multiple luxury wedding editorials and styled shoots hosted at Basil Place and they were honestly some of the most beautiful editorials I’ve ever photographed. I am obsessed with some of these images!
Basil Place was such an incredible venue to work at. The property itself is stunning, but what stood out most was the heart behind the people there. Every person involved was kind, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about serving others well.
The styled shoots featured several talented creatives and planners, each bringing a unique vision and aesthetic to life.
A few of the incredible planners and creative teams involved included:
Each editorial felt completely different in style and vision, which made the entire experience even more creatively fulfilling.

One thing I kept thinking throughout the week was how important it is to continue investing in yourself creatively.
No matter how long you’ve been in business, there is always room to grow, learn, and be inspired again.
Grace in Motion reminded me that stepping away from your normal systems and routines can actually reignite creativity in such a powerful way. Being surrounded by people who are passionate, encouraging, and willing to pour into others was exactly what my heart needed heading into the busy season.
I left feeling creatively refreshed, inspired, and incredibly grateful to have a friend like Courtney Cannon!

Weeks like this are such a reminder that the wedding industry is about so much more than beautiful photos.
It’s about community.
Serving people well.
Creating meaningful experiences.
And it’s about continuing to grow into the person and creative you’re called to be.
I’m so thankful to Courtney for inviting me to be part of Grace in Motion and for creating a space that encouraged so many creatives in such a genuine way!
And of course… I’m already dreaming about the next one!
