Lexie and Nick’s autumn engagement at Blackwater Falls was just stunning. Blackwater Falls, is home to me and nestled in the heart of West Virginia. I truly believe it offers the perfect setting for engagement sessions! These mountains views are especially beautiful in the fall. Framed by the fiery hues of red, orange, and gold, the color created straight out of a movie!
We started their session with a leisurely stroll along a winding trail. Nick and Lexie love the outdoors and exploring new places together, so I thought Blackwater was the perfect place to document their engagement session. The fallen leaves crunching beneath their feet felt like nature’s confetti celebrating their promise to spend forever together.
These two are high school sweethearts and have been together for over eight years. While they love spending time together outdoors in the mountains, one of their favorite places is the Outer Banks. (One of my favorites too) They’ve spent many summers adventuring at the beach there!
Nick told Lexie they were going to dinner with friends, but when they started driving they took a detour. They ended up on a family friend’s farm where he had flowers and photos of them throughout the years set up. As they walked hand and hand looking at all the memories throughout the years, they stopped at a banner Nick hung saying “it was always you”. With their sweet pup Leo by his side, he got down on one knee and popped the question! After Lexie said yes their loved ones awaited them to celebrate in the cabin nearby. How sweet and romantic!!
Their engagement session unfolded seamlessly, with their sweet and genuine laughter and stolen glances painting a portrait of their love story. It’s always my goal to capture raw moments of emotion during sessions and I feel like we documented the essence of Lexie and Nick’s deep connection and beautiful smiles perfectly.
This engagement session wasn’t just a photoshoot; it was a celebration of love and a testament to the beauty of commitment. Each time I photograph a new couple my heart just smiles. These two are so sweet! My couples are truly the best. I am reminded that like the seasons, love too evolves, bringing new colors and dimensions to our lives. Lexie and Nick’s autumn engagement at Blackwater Falls wasn’t just a moment captured in time, but a symbol to the beginning of their love story. One that will continue to unfold with each passing season. Can’t wait for your wedding day, Lexie and Nick. It’s going to be amazing!
