A Maryland engagement session in the mountains is hard to beat in the fall! Even in the winter temps, we found the last bit of color hanging on to the trees for Hannah and Russell’s engagement session. I had the best time with these two!

You know when you meet those people who are just the most genuine and kind they just radiate life and joy when you’re around them? I could tell Hannah and Russell would be that type of couple. From the moment we connected through Instagram, I knew that I would LOVE to shoot their wedding. Hannah told me one thing when we were chatting; photos are the most important. My heart started to flutter when I read those words. These two are investing in their legacy!

We got them on the calendar and then came planning their engagement photos. When Hannah and I were talking about their wedding day and love story, one of the first things she said was was how much she and Russell loved fall. We woke up to a snow storm on Saturday morning, and I panicked a little inside. We decided to go for it anyway and I am SO glad we did!! Hannah found the perfect location near Oakland at Potomac State Forest. It was cold, but beautiful! And we found some color-YAY!

It was a little bit of a hike to get down to these falls. So worth it though! These photos were taken in the first ten minutes of shooting. Can’t you just see how in love these two are?! The sweetest.

Hannah’s ring is stunning! Russell told me he searched and searched for the perfect one and when he saw this one, he knew it was it!

Russell is such a gentleman to his bride-to-be. Holding her hand as they walked back to the vehicle, opening her door when we drove to another location. It’s those small gestures that always tell me “they’re going to have a beautiful marriage”.

Hannah and Russell, I am so honored to document the beginning of your life together! I cannot wait to celebrate with you on your wedding day. Yay for love!
