Flying for the First Time | Showit Conference Recap

Personal

Still trying to wrap my head around the fact that this hometown loving, WV girl from the middle of nowhere hopped on an airplane with her photographer bestie for an amazing photography conference in Phoenix, Arizona!

It was quite the experience. Full of excitement, exhaustion and all around fun. I loved every moment of the trip and was so thankful to have Katelyn by my side. To be honest, I never thought I’d be brave enough to travel anywhere in an airplane. In May, Katelyn texted me and asked what I was doing in November. I told her: “hopefully resting from busy season, why?” She asked if I wanted to Showit United. I said “Arizona?!?!?”

After talking with Thomas about it, we agreed life is too short to not take the opportunities when they arise.

So November 7 came! I boarded the airplane with Katelyn and LOVED flying!!! It was seriously so much fun! I was in awe. We landed in the desert and were greeted by so many amazing educators, fellow photographers and truly some of the sweetest people ever!

I was in awe in these moments!!! Still trying to wrap my head around the fact that I flew across the country in less than 4 hours. Flying is SO much fun!!!

Day one was THE best! Met so many amazing people who I will cherish their friendship forever.

Rebecca, my first hug buddy! And the queen herself, Katelyn James, with her sweet little girl. I seriously cannot thank KJ enough for the amount of insight and time she gives to her people. Amazing!

Dinner on night one was spectacular. So many great conversations, and not to mention food!

If you’ve been following along for a while, you know how much I love flowers, so when I saw these flowers in the desert, pictures were necessary! Flowers in November! The best.

That desert glow is hard to beat!

Watch out for the cactus- they hurt! I got a little piece of one stuck in my shoe during our styled shoot, they’re definitely poky!

Gala in pastel night! I loved everything about this evening!! So much fun!!

The last day I had the privilege to talk to sweet Hope Taylor during her breakout session. She has been the true inspiration that no matter how young you are, you can make big things happen!

And sweet Alli, the girl who will dig deep and pull on your heart strings, and will give you a killer website copy! Amazing!

Katelyn, thank you so much for pushing me to do crazy things!! I am so thankful for our friendship and cannot wait to see how we grow in the next year! P.S. thanks again for standing in line for a half an hour to take this pic 😉

I am so excited for what’s to come, friends!! So blessed to have this job and this life here on earth. Cherishing every moment.

xoxo,
Zoe
