Our Story | Part One

Personal

When I began planning my 2019 blogging calendar I got so excited to incorporate this three part blog series of mine and Tee’s story. We will be celebrating our SIXTH anniversary together on February 5th!! WOW! I hope you enjoy following along and learning more about who we are. Here’s our story… part one.

High school sweethearts

Thomas “Tee” and I are high school sweethearts. It may sound cliche, but I truly couldn’t imagine life without him and am so grateful The Lord put him in my life at such a young age. He was a well known, popular sophomore, played on the baseball team and had tons of friends. I was a timid freshman who made the cheer squad and promised myself I did not want a boyfriend in high school.

What began as a “good friendship” blossomed into puppy love. We spent many nights up way too late talking about our hopes and dreams, and before I knew it we were going to the winter dance together. By this time I had already been calling Thomas “Tee” because I found out that his initials were T.E.E. and I thought “Tee” had a nice ring to it and it has stuck ever since!

I remember being so nervous getting ready for this dance. It was the first one where I had an actual date and I think I was even more nervous about what my daddy would have to say. By this time Tee hadn’t officially asked me to be his girlfriend… mainly because I had just turned 14 and daddy was adamant that I was not old enough to have a boyfriend. Tee got me flowers (he knew then they were the way to my heart) and was such a gentleman. The dance was so much fun and afterward I knew in my heart that I loved him. Yep-I loved him at 14 years old.

How he asked

I was just a toddler when I started dance and spent almost every Saturday at the studio which also happened to be the place where Tee worked out at. One snowy Saturday I walked outside to find Tee asking my daddy’s permission to officially “be my boyfriend” and he approved. February 5, 2013 became our anniversary date!

We both were so happy to begin life together as a couple. Stay tuned for Monday’s post to find out where out first “date” was and hear more about our high school years together.

For now, enjoy these pictures from WAY back when!!! These are just a few of the hundreds we have together. Oh my heart!!

The very first dance together. Just babies!!!

Another dance!! Oh so many stories… such happy memories!

He was at every cheer event and game always there to support me!

My eye was bloodshot for this dance… thank goodness he loved me!! Haha! I remember being so upset about it and he kept telling me how beautiful I looked. SO sweet.

More pre-dance photos and more flowers!!!

His junior prom!

Christmas together!

Come back Monday for more to our story!!

xoxo,

Zoe
